After successful pilot in 2001 an advice project for the inpatients was set up in the psychiatric wards at Wishaw General Hospital.
The project runs a weekly advice clinic, which allows us to provide inpatients with access to mainstream advice and information whilst in hospital.
Within the supportive environment of the hospital we can deal effectively with problems experienced by clients in relation to their welfare benefits, employment, housing, utilities and more.
The Patients requiring continued help after discharge will be referred to their local CAB.
Advocacy is also provided either by representation at appeals or negotiating with outside bodies.
